1.1 What are Koins?
Koins are our way of rewarding safe driving, by awarding Koins based on your driving information collected through your use of the Kudo App. When you use the Kudo App you’re able to accrue Kudo Koins (“Koins”). Koins are a virtual currency that can only be used through the Kudo App.
Important: Kudo, and its operation of Kudo Koins and rewards, is in no way affiliated with, endorsed, or sponsored by Apple.
1.2 The Kudo Challenge
The Kudo Challenge starts when you have downloaded the Kudo App, registered, and start driving. If you consistently drive safely throughout the Kudo Challenge, and maintain a great driving score, you should pass the Kudo Challenge. Passing the Kudo Challenge unlocks access to the Kudo prize environment – at which time you will have the opportunity to redeem your Koins.
If you do not complete the Kudo Challenge, or the Kudo Challenge is completed and the overall driving score is below the level required to successfully pass the Kudo Challenge threshold, any Koins that have been earned during the Challenge period may be removed from that account, and there will be no access to the prize environment.
1.3 Earning Koins
Koins can be earned for each car journey where the policyholder, or someone named on the policy, is the driver, and where the driving score for each journey exceeds the set threshold.
Koins can also be earned by taking part in Monthly Challenges, each of which covers a calendar month. You will see Monthly Challenges in the Kudo App. Each challenge will set out the criteria, and any additional terms for that challenge including any driving threshold you need to meet to be awarded Koins. Each challenge is different, and the Kudo App may assess the way in which the vehicle is being driven, taking into account many different factors including speed, acceleration, braking, and distraction.
People successfully completing a Monthly Challenge will be notified by email and/ or Kudo App notification.
Kudo will enter into no discussion about failure to successfully complete a Monthly Challenge, and Kudo’s decision as to success or failure is final.
1.4 Spending Koins
All Koins can be redeemed through the Koin Store in the Kudo App. This part of the app shows the ways in which Koins can be redeemed, which includes Chests, The Market, and Draws - as further defined below.
In the Koin Store a set number of Koins can be redeemed to open a Chest, and the chance of winning a prize. The number of Koins required to open a Chest is displayed in the Koin Store. The odds of winning a prize in the chest, and the value of that prize, are subject to change without notice.
Winners will be notified via email, and only to the email address registered in the Kudo app. Kudo will make reasonable attempts to contact the winner, but reserve the right to withhold the prize if the customer cannot be contacted within ten business days.
The Market allows a registered Kudo App user to redeem a set number of Koins in the Koin Store for a defined item. The items that are available in the Market, and the number of Koins required for a redemption are displayed in the Koin Store. Items will be fulfilled electronically, and only to the email address registered in the Kudo app. Kudo will make reasonable attempts to contact the person redeeming Koins for items, but reserve the right to withhold the item if the customer cannot be contacted within ten business days.
The Monthly Prize draws run for each calendar month. Registered Kudo App users may redeem a number of Koins for a ticket in a Monthly Draw. The number of Koins required to buy a ticket, and the available prizes, are shown in the Koin Store. Each ticket confers one additional entry into the draw for that month. Tickets do not roll forwards into subsequent months.
Tickets for a Monthly Draw must be purchased before midnight on the final day of the month. Winners will be selected at random from all eligible tickets within 2 business days of the end of the previous month. Kudo will make reasonable attempts to contact the winner(s), but reserve the right to withhold the prize(s) if the customer cannot be contacted within ten business days.
Employees and family of Kudo MGA Limited, Toggle Data Services Limited, Blagrove Underwriting Agency, and Accredited Insurance (Europe) Limited – UK branch are not eligible to take part in Monthly Draws or open Chests.
No refunds, alternatives, or part-exchanges are available.
Where physical items are fulfilled, it is the responsibility of the Customer to provide a UK dispatch address that is deliverable by UK couriers and delivery services.
No items in the Koin Store are associated with, affiliated with, or in any other way connected with Kudo MGA Limited, t/a Kudo, or this promotion.
1.5 Key Koin Terms
The following terms apply:
If you choose to open a Chest you agree to redeem the stated number of Koins in exchange for a chance of winning a prize.
If you choose to redeem Koins for a Market item you agree to redeem the stated number of Koins in exchange for the stated item.
If you choose to redeem Koins for a Draw entry you agree to redeem the stated number of Koins in exchange for an entry for that Draw with a chance of winning one of the listed prizes.
Koins can only be redeemed within the Kudo App, and have no transferrable cash value inside or outside the Kudo App.
Kudo will not exchange Koins for any monetary sum. Koins cannot be exchanged or transferred between individuals or businesses.
Prizes that have a monetary value will be issued in Great Britain Pounds (GBP) only.
The award of prizes is at the absolute discretion of Kudo, and Kudo retains the right to delay or withhold prizes if it has reasonable grounds to believe that they have been obtained by fraudulent or illegal methods.
Kudo Insurance and the Kudo App are designed for private car owners who do not use their vehicles for commercial purposes such as taxis or multi-stop delivery drivers. As such Kudo retains the right to cap or limit the number of Koins that can be accrued within a given period of time – to reflect general private car usage.
Failure to complete the Kudo Challenge within a set period of time will prevent the further accrual of Koins, and trips will no longer be tracked or recorded.
Kudo Insurance retains the right to alter the basis on which Koins are awarded, the number of Koins required per chest, the odds of winning a prize, and the value of prizes at any point and without prior notice.
We reserve the right to close the account of any user that has not accessed the app within the last 3 months, has not made any valid trips within the last 2 months, or where it is 6 months since the Challenge was started – whether or not it has been completed. For any account that is suspended, trips are no longer tracked or recorded, and any Koins are forfeited.
